I suspect that this would have continued its steep incline if I could afford to just let it run long term. Aside from some minor dips, traffic to my Pinterest page increased steadily as time went on. Impressions went up over 5000%, engagements over 3000%, my total audience went up almost 20,000% and my engaged audience (total number of pinners) went up over 7000%. The results on my Pinterest traffic were dramatic.

But the platform was a bit glitchy, so I had to refresh a lot and couldn't trust the results in real time. Running the ad was actually very easy and intuitive, which was nice. I'm not sure if this was a good call or not. Whoops!) As my ads ran, I eventually disabled the ads for the products that just weren't getting hits, and left all the funding to be used up on the most successful 3 ads. (One was actually a Zazzle product because my Pinterest covers both accounts. Each was a different design and a different product.

After the $20 rebate I paid a little over $17.) They recommended at least 7 products for the ads, so I selected 8. (I ended up slightly over just due to time zone differences, adjusting the daily cost to make sure I hit that $30, and then tax. I ran an ad for about 5 days, for $6 a day, to end up at $30. Pinterest had a deal, spend $30 in ads, get $20 off, so I chose them for my experimental ad. It also gets very little traffic and typically gets almost no repins, outbound clicks or saves. My Pinterest account is much newer than my Redbubble account, probably half a year old. Would increasing my viewers dramatically mean 5% of the new viewers would buy?

That's actually really good! So for this experiment. 5% of people who visit my page (and that Redbubble counts as having visited) buy something. Before this ad campaign, I had maybe around 220 visits all time to my page, but 11 sales is actually a 5% success rate. In 1.5 years on Redbubble, I've made 11 sales altogether, primarily stickers. That being said, I am a professional artist as my day job as well so I'd like to imagine my work isn't complete garbage. One of my biggest struggles for my page is just directing traffic to it. I just sell my art, which is usually just cute, cartoony animals, cute patterns, etc. Tldr Not a bad platform for paid ads, got more traffic to my store than I've ever had in a month (and we're only halfway through the month,) but spoiler: didn't get any sales. (A big feat, for me.) Whelp, that money is completely gone now! So I figured I'd share my experience in this little experiment and open up a discussion about ways this can be done more effectively, better platforms for such things, etc etc. I recently ran my first ever Pinterest paid ad directed towards my Redbubble page as a little experiment, to celebrate making 2 sales in January.
